Kids Class

Open Sew Every Wednesday & Friday** 10:00-3:00
This is a great way to get projects done and meet some wonderful quilting friends! Spend the day at Candlelite Quilts and if you need any help, our staff will be there for you. Registration will hold your spot but walk-ins are welcome, just call before you come and check for availability.
Class Fee~$10.00


Amelia Earhart Star Quilt** (Experienced Beginner)Thursday, May 22~(Morn)10:30-1:00 or (Evening) 6:00-8:30  Saturday~May 24-10:30-1:00
This is a class that uses the Bias Triangle & Half rectangle Nifty Notion Rulers. You will be making the star blocks and the alternate blocks for this quilt. You only use two size strips and it works up faster that you think!!

Machine Quilting** Saturday, August 16~10:30-3:30 (Beginner)
This class is a must! You will learn in the ditch, free motion, all about needles & threads and much more. You will look at machine quilting in a whole new way and feel confident in your next project.

Tonga Dimes*(Beginner)~ Tuesday,  May 13~10:30-1:00 or 6:00-8:30
Have you ever worked with Batiks?? This is a great chance to use batiks and see how all the colors work using this easy pattern that   uses only 10” squares!! There is a kit available with pre-cut 10” squares or you can choose your own batiks and create your own color design.

Quilting Jams!!!***Saturday, May 24 or Saturday, June 21 ~2:00-11:00pm
Yes, that’s right 11:00 PM !! Imagine sewing for 9 hours straight! This is a great social event to meet new quilting friends and have an evening just for you. You can also bring hand projects as well, (knitting, cross stitch or rug hooking). This class fills up quick, I think because dinner is included (no cooking!!)

Class Fee~$25.00 (Includes Pizza!)  


Santa Redwork Block of the Month Class***(Beginner)  Thursday, May 29, June 26, July 31, & August 28~Morning session-10:30-12:30 or Evening Session-6:00-8:00
You can choose Santa’s or Snowmen for this monthly class. This is a great take along project that you will never be able to put down!

You can also use Blue thread for a blue work design! Learn to transfer, stitch and set these wonderful blocks that will become a treasure to your family. Each month you will learn something new, so jump in and start some hand work!!

Fat Quarter Valance***(Beginner) Tuesday, June 17~10:30-12:30 or Tuesday, July 15~6:00-8:00
Learn how to make this quick and easy valance using only 5 Fat Quarters! You will complete one valance in class and then you will be on your way to decorating all your windows!! Great way to use fabrics that you love!

Mystery Project of the Month***  Thursday, May 8, June 12, July 10 or August 14
Morning session~ 10-30-1 :30 or Evening session~ 6:00-9:00

This is a fun class that you cannot stress over because you have no idea what you will be making!! Your kit is included in the price and will be provided for you in class. You will learn a new technique with each mystery class and walk away with a finished project. You sign up on month to month basis. Lots of fun!!

Wool “Flower” Needle Case* Saturday, May 31~10:30-2:30 or Wednesday, July 16 & 23~6:00-8:00 (Beginner)
Give wool a try!! You will love this great hand project leaning tips and techniques along the way.  You will finish your needle Case in class to show off to all of your friends!! This will prepare you to take on any wool project including our new Wool Block of  the Month!

Gumbo Ya-Ya***( Beginner) Tuesday (Morn), May 27 ~10:00-1:00-(Even)~6:00-9:00
Make this lap quilt even if you just started to quilt. It requires only 8 fat quarters plus border fabric. You can make it bigger by adding more fat quarters!! If you have taken the beginner table runner class, this would be a great second class to continue on cutting and sewing skills. If  you are an experienced quilter, you will love the how fast this quilt goes together. Either way, don’t miss out!!!

New “Book Club” Added !!!*** Tuesday ,  April 22, May 20 & June 24~10:30-12:30 or 6:00-8:00
That’s right, Book Club! Do you love to read as much as you love to quilt?? Now you can combine the two!! These are wonderful

novels about young ladies and their journey through life during the 1800’s. We will meet to discuss the story, have trivia games and enjoy a night out. In these novels you will read about the quilts they made and in class I will show you demonstrations using the “Square in a Square Ruler” and new techniques used to make these quilts from the book. There are pattern books, fabric and rulers that go along with each book. Just the reading book is required for these classes, but you may be inspired to make a quilt too!!!

Dresden Plate Table Runner**(Beginner)Tuesday, August 19~10:30-12:30 or 6:00-8:00
Learn how to make a Dresden plate with our Wedge Nifty Notion ruler. It is easy & fast but looks like you spent

hours! It makes a wonderful addition to your table runners and looks great in all color combinations.

Open Workshops!!

Open Workshops run once a month and give you an opportunity to work on projects from the shop that you may need help on. It is also a great way to socialize and have some “you time” to get your projects finished. There is an instructor with you at all times. We have Rug Punching and Wool Open Workshops. You can sign up on a month to month basis.

“Getting to Know your Nifty Notion Rulers”
Saturday, June 14~1:00-2:00


Come and see this free viewing on making traditional blocks using your Nifty Notion Rulers!
You will me amazed at how easy it is to piece several blocks with just 4 ½” & 2 ½” strips.
Patterns for the blocks will be given out too!! 
This is a great time to get your ruler club finished to receive your Free Side Set Ruler! 
I will also reveal a new pattern using your square rulers and the Side Set Ruler.

I believe that we are all beginners and there is always something new to learn. We have tried to help you decide on the right class for you, so use the levels to help determine the best fit for your quilting skill level and get the most from your class. Thank you.

Beginner, Beginner~ You have never done any type of quilting but have a love and want to get started.
Beginner~ You started to use a rotary cutter and have done some piecing but looking for more instruction, look for beginner in the class list.
Experienced Beginner~ You have made a few quilts and feel confident in your cutting and piecing skills but want to explore other aspects of quilting
Advanced Beginner~ You have made several quilts and quilt all the time but want to learn more to challenge yourself.
